What is a car harness?

In order to make the whole car line regular, convenient to install and protect the insulation of the wires, the whole car line on the car, except for high-voltage wires, battery cables and starter cables, is generally made of insulating materials such as cotton yarn or thin polychloride with different specifications of wires in the same area. Vinyl plastic tape is wrapped and wrapped into a bundle, called a wiring harness. After the automotive wiring harness is made of copper material, the contact terminals (connectors) are crimped to the wires and cables, and then the insulators or external metal shells are plastic-molded on the outside, and the wiring harnesses are used to form the components that connect the circuit.

The role of automotive wiring harnesses

Automobile wiring harness is the main body of the network of automobile circuit. Without wiring harness, there is no automobile circuit. The automobile wiring harness is made by selecting the shortest way for the wiring between various electrical appliances, and wrapping several wires of the same path with insulating tape. Therefore, it is mainly composed of low-voltage wires of various colors and related connection plug-ins, terminal blocks, insulation banding materials, and the like. The automobile wiring harness can be used with the aforementioned wiring harness diagram in conjunction with the part location diagram and circuit schematic diagram.

Due to the particularity of the automotive industry, the manufacturing process of automotive wiring harnesses is more special than other ordinary wiring harnesses.
The manufacturing of automotive wiring harnesses must comply with the following standard system:

2. Mainly Japan:
Such as Toyota and Honda, they have their own systems to control the manufacturing process.

With the increase of automotive functions and the widespread application of automotive electronic control technology, there are more and more automotive electrical parts, more and more automotive wires, and the thicker and heavier automotive wiring harnesses. Advanced cars have introduced a CAN bus configuration that uses a multiplex transmission system. Compared with the traditional automotive wiring harness, the multiplexer greatly reduces the number of automotive wires and connectors, making wiring easier.
